I have a problem.

For the last 6-8 weeks, my 8980 has been locking up completely, on average, every second day.

Browsing the net without issue when suddenly the router stops accepting any contact.

If I look at the lights on the front, it says it is still logged into my ISP, but I cannot access the router via the web interface and the only way I can restore a connection is by rebooting the router. So I cannot actually tell if the connection to the ISP is still up.

Prior to this time, the system was stable for 9-10 months, this 8980 replaced another 8980 (which I still own ) that developed EXACTLY the same problem.

Now I don't believe it's my network, as nothing has changed in the last 3 years in terms of layout ( more devices, but topology is a mix of wired and wireless).

But I just think it's strange that after a similar amount of time the same type of ADSL router has the same problem.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with the 8980?

Any suggestions on possible fixes?

Upgrade the latest firmware, reset and reconfigure it.

Have now done the flashing/resetting, will let you know if it fixes it
