Hi I have recently purchased TP link router TD-W8980. We have holiday cottages opposite our granite farmhouse and I need to get internet access to them. I recently had a computer guy bring an external booster aerial, which worked fantastically with my old TP link router. However, the router stopped working and I purchased the new router, which does not seem to work with the external aerial (even though the green light is showing on the connector box. The computer guy is at a loss as to why it isn't working, so I wonder if there are any settings I need to change to get the router compatible with the aerial. I am not that tech savvy, so I hope that there is a simple solution! Many thanks, NIcola

Your old TP-LINK is not a dual band one, right?
Detachable antennas on W8980 are 5GHz ones. How about yours?
