Archer C8 2.4GHz connection always dies

I just bought the C8 based on recommendations from The Wirecutter. Love it so far, but the 2.4GHz connection is not stable. If I reboot the router, the 2.4GHz connection only lasts for maybe an hour. Then it just drops. The 5GHz connection always works.
Seems like there's two ways to fix it: Turn off 2.4GHz in the Wireless Settings, then hitting save, then turning it back on, then hitting save again. Or just rebooting the whole router.
I saw a few posts on the forum of people having the same issue. I have the latest firmware.
