Model : TL-WA901ND

Hardware Version : V3

Firmware Version :

ISP : BT

Hi - any thoughts on this would be great - TIA :)

I have the TL-WA901ND wired directly to a W8960N to act as a wireless AP for a wireless deadspot. This all works perfectly well when they are physically/directly wired. However when I introduce the POE injector between the connection or connect via a switch from the W8960N I'm unable to access the web from any client devices via the AP?

Regards
Andy

Did you use POE injector in the package?
How did you connect? PoE port on the injector is connected to LAN port of WA901ND and LAN port on the injector is connected to your router or switch?

Hi - yes I used the POE injector included - connected as follows - Router W8960N---------POE LAN port----POE Port------- WA901ND. The strange this is if I connect via a switch I get the same problem so I'm starting to think it could be the router settings?

W8960N---------POE LAN port----POE Port------- WA901ND.

The above topology should work. You need to log into the AP and disable DHCP service on WA901ND

Appreciate your reply, I have checked and DCHP is already disabled on the WA901ND under the DCHP menu. Is there anything I should look at on the W8960N?

If you remove the POE injector, it will work again?
I cannot figure out what's wrong there...What's the IP address of your W8960N and WA901ND?

Hi - yes it works fine without PoE and can be seen on the network. The WA901ND ip is 192.168.1.102 & the W8960N is 192.168.1.1 - thanks

Out of interest - has anyone got the WA901ND working using PoE ? many thanks - tech support are suggesting that I swap the PoE adapter but as I cannot see the device even when connected via a switch I think the problem lies elsewhere - any creative solutions/ideas appreciated...

@Cleloid

Maybe it is a little late for this thread. ;)

TL-WA901ND_V3_150409 has fixed the bug that chomecast cannot be discovered when connected to TL-WA901ND.

As to the PoE issue, how long is the two cables add up together?
The cable length cannot be longer than 30 meter as per passive PoE's capability. I learn this from TP-LINK website.
The total length between the router and the AP cannot longer than 100 meter as per Ethernet cables' capability.

W8960N ---------POE LAN port----POE Port------- WA901ND.
