Hi Guys

DDNS doesn't update automatically from the router. I have to update the host manually from the NO-IP site.

I use "NO-IP" as my DDNS service but this is error log from the router {dynDNSOrgState: retry fail! shut down service}.

Why is it detecting DYNDNS when I'm specifically using NO-IP?

Note: yes the NO-IP DDNS service is activated on the router.

Appreciate any leads.

Have you entered correct login and password for service no-ip? Do you have latest firmware? My suggestion please disable UPnP service on the router.

Yes, I've verified the login and password is correct. The firmware is also the latest.

I've disabled UPnP service on the router, still no joy.

Yes I've verified that the login and password is correct and it is running the latest firmware.

I have disabled UPnP but it still doesn't update automatically.

I've tested the same with a DDWRT router and it works fine sadly that's not compatible with ADSL service unless I have a bridge.

Do you have public IP address on the router from your internet provider?

managed to telnet into the router, still doesn't update DDNS when dhcp expires after 24 hours.

TP-LINK> sys ddns display
DDNS Status
state = 0, flags = 3
pauseTime = 0, timerID = 0
startcnt = 2, stopcnt = 0
retrycnt = 0, eventqcnt = 0
socketID = -1
DomainName = xoxoxox.servebeer.com
eMail Address =
update IP = 119.x.x.x
update time = 00:00:00 Thu. Jan. 01, 1970
retCode = :0
TP-LINK> sys ddns
debug display restart logout
pvcctrl
TP-LINK> sys ddns pvcctrl
ddns Pvc Mask=0xff
pvcctrl
TP-LINK>

DDNS debug = 0

DDNS - restart - Iface not found

I'm having the same issue with the exact same situation. One thing that's really odd, is when I set up no-ip and saved the information, after I click on "login" I see a message stating "dyndns". I suspect that the router's software is not using the correct DNS provider that is saved; instead it is using the first or default one for dyndns. If someone else can replicate this issue then I suspect it's a router bug and it will need to be fixed with the next firmware update.

I'm having the exact same issue. DDNS is not working for my no-ip.com option. I've verified the id/pwd work from the no-ip.com website and my PC's DDNS client. When I try to login via the TPLINK admin screen I briefly see the message "dyndns" instead of my no-ip.com selection. I suspect this is a bug and if I'm correct it will have to be fixed and distributed in an upcoming firmware update.
