@PRDR

Good day.

Sorry for the delay.

May I know how long have you had the router and when did the issue start

If possible, please try to change the wireless channel on the router, such as:

And have you also tried to reset the MR3420 by holding the reset button/pinhole for 10s?

Thank you~

Sorry if this is too old... I have the same  router (also v2) and the firmware installed is 3.16.9. However the Wifi signal drops (disappears) after a while anyways.

Is there a new firmware version, or something that might help?

Thanks.

Hi @Sunshine ,

Thanks for your reply and help.  I have had the router for a few years already, I do not remember exactly how long though. These problems have happened for as long as I can remember, I first blamed the 3G signal, but soon realized that it was the Wifi signal that just disappeared. I actually quit using the router some years ago because of this. But now  another router failed and I needed to quickly replace it, so I installed it again, unfortunately with the same results.

I was not aware of the existence of this web site in the past, that is why I am just asking now, after having the router for so long.

Anyways, I have reset the router (pinhole way) a few times, and reconfigured it too, but I had not thought of changing the channel to a fixed one. Why would that fix the problem? It is not that the signal gets weak or noisy, like when you are on a busy channel, it is just that it vanishes, the wifi connections drop and I can not see the SSID even if a laptop is sitting right next to the router.  In any case, I have done this now (set a fixed channel) and I will see if things get better. I will be reporting back here whatever happens.

Thanks again!

Hi again, @Sunshine .

The wifi signal stayed up for about 48 hours this time, after trying your suggestion (setting a fixed channel). A lot longer than before, but it finally dropped anyways.  So, I guess fixing the channel helps, but it does not completely fix the problem.

In any case, I can live with resetting the router every night before going to bed. I will see if that leaves me with a solid signal all day.

Thanks again for your help!
