Can't upgrade firmware of PA411 v1

I've tried every download from the 1.global website for version 1 of the 500mbps adapters, but everytime I try to upgrade the firmware, the utility says "Upgrade failed", then the connection to the router adapter is lost
I'm pretty sure I'm on version 1, since the utility for version 2 didn't pick up the devices, and there's no mention of version number on the adapters.
Could Windows 10 have any effect on it?
