TD-W9980 keeps trying to connect

Before 3 days bought a TD-W9980 as I thought my modem was the issue with my speed slowing down by time..the longer I was connected the worst it got...I set up the modem,it synced and when it was about to connect, both sync and internet LEDs went off...it did that for some time and I thought I had setup my WAN setting wrong until it finally connected...I played some online games, watched some streams for about 6-7 hours as it was Saturday evening until it disconnected...from that time it does the same thing and drops sync and internet led when it is about to connect...I have managed to connect for some short periods of time ~10 minutes anyone know what might be the problem?
