I'm having trouble setting up this WiFi range extender. I want to be able to access its management page AND my main APs management page simultanously. I have tried different methods but none work properly:

First, this is my network. ADSL - Modem and Main AP (Thomson TG787) @ 192.168.1.254. If I connect to this direcly, my PC is dealt the IP 192.168.1.83 automatically.

Now I add my Wifi range extender WA854RE and go through the quick setup. Using tplinkrepeater.net doesn't work for some reason, but I can access the configuration page on 192.168.0.254.
I set it up with a different SSID, to distinguish it from the Main AP. I can now connect to it and get online. My computer is automaticalty dealt the IP 192.168.1.83 with gateway 192.168.1.254.

Now, pinging 192.168.0.254 yields no reply. Where is the range extender? How can I access it?

I have also tried another way to configure my range extender. Factory reset, then I set it up manually: I set the LAN configuration to static IP (default is dynamic) of 192.168.1.200, gateway 192.168.1.254. I turned DHCP ON (default is "Auto") and set start IP 192.168.1.100 and end IP 192.168.1.199. Restart and now I get the IP 192.168.1.100 on my PC. I can access my wifi extender on 192.168.1.200. But my main AP is not reachable on 192.168.1.254! I can get online, sort of: I can go to google.com and search, but other web pages don't work! How curious? Maybe it was something strange with my PC at this point. Anyway I went back into the range extender webpage and back on LAN dynamic IP. I did not change DHCP settings. Yet now I get the IP 192.168.1.83, seemingly dealt by the main AP again, which I can access now. Internet works fine. But now I have no way to access my range extender....

Is this impossible to do? Are there some bugs with the program?

If you choose dynamic IP, which means the IP address of your 854RE would be assigned by your router, so it won't be 0.254 any more after you successfully set up it. You should go to the web page of the router to check its DHCP list, the IP of 854RE would be displayed there.
