TL-WPS510U: Printing to port 9100 (PDL) slow

Hello,
I am having problems with printing to the TL-WPS510U Print Server.
I print over PDL, which means that I open a socket to the print server on port 9100, send a string, and then close the socket again. For instance, in the OS X terminal you can do this with the nc command:
$ echo "HELLO WORLD" | nc 192.163.2.29 9100
The first call works without problems, but any subsequent calls will hang for a few seconds before anything is printed. In the example above, the Terminal will stall a few seconds before returning the command prompt.
I have also used the TL-PS110U Print Server to print over port 9100 and this product does not have this issue. However, I would like to use a wireless printer server, which is why I opted for TL-WPS510U.
Is this a known issue? Is there some option that needs to be disabled/enabled to speed up PDL printing?
Thank you,
Nick
