Hello

I need some help. Ive just bought the product BE65 Pro on recommendation. However, I have no idea what Im doing. It doesnt seem to want to work for me. I am currently with DODO and have a modem VX220 which cannot handle NBN speeds, so I bought this to replace that. But I cant get it to connect direct to the NBN and Foxtel wont work.

Do I need to connect it to the modem and then Foxtel? I tried just plugging straight into NBN port but no joy. Our problem is there is no signal in the house without the Wifi as our house is steel framed. I am at a loss. so if someone could give me some direction I would really appreciate it

Thanks

Amanda

Hey Amanda, Your Deco BE65 Pro can’t connect straight to the NBN unless you’ve got one of those NBN boxes on the wall (like FTTP or HFC). Since you’re with DODO and were using the VX220 before, you’ll need to keep that modem connected to the NBN outlet, and then plug your Deco BE65 Pro into the VX220 using any of its Ethernet ports - the Deco will automatically detect it as the internet (WAN) connection. In the Deco app, select Dynamic IP when asked for the connection type - that usually works right away. Then you can connect your Foxtel and other devices to the Deco’s Wi-Fi network. If you ever want to remove the VX220 completely later, you’ll need to know your NBN type (FTTP, FTTN, etc.) and your DODO login details (for PPPoE), but for now just run the Deco through the VX220 and it should work fine
