You can use "Bridge with AP" mode which can change broadcasting SSID name of AP. Then you could connect the SSID of AP. What's more, if you don't want to change mode, you could also can do mac filter in the router. But i just recommend the first type. For more question, why you want to connect to the AP? You phone or laptop could change connection by itself when signal strength is too small.

SOHO TP-Link doesn't have roaming feature and sometimes have problem with choose good access point.
