Powerline Adapter Crashing During High Traffic

Hello there! I have come across an annoyance that *seems* to be caused by my TP-Link powerline adapter. Can I ask why, when downloading at high-ish speeds (4mbps+) on Steam would my TP-Link powerline adapter crash? The crash is limited only to the destination powerline adapter and switching it off and then on again at the wall resets it. I would really appreciate any help on the matter.
