TL-WN7200ND wireless adapter loses connection

I have this adapter connected to my PC for 2.5 years
for 2 years it worked OK with Win XP OS , half a year ago I upgraded to Win 8.1 Pro and 2 months it worked with no issue
then suddenly it began loosing connection on random times, no networks are seen, I get the device status: (on device manager) "This device cannot start (Code 10)"
in order to gain connectivity back I have to restart the pc few times until it gets connected or re-scan /refresh using the TP link wireless Utility app
I tested the adapter on a laptop and it seems OK didn't disconnect for 2 days...
Is anyone familiar with this kind of issue and may have a solution?
