Laptop not detecting the extender's WiFi

Model : TL-WA854RE
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version : 1.0.0 Build 20150916 Rel. 34723
ISP :
I just bought the TP-Link Range Extender TL-WA854RE for my house. It seems to work fine, I was able to detect and configure it using my father's laptop (Vaio running Ubuntu), and now the four mobile phones we have in our house are able to find and connect to the WiFi of the range extender. The Vaio laptop also connects fine.
But here's the strange problem, my laptop (Lenovo running Windows 10) doesn't seem to find that WiFi, even when being just a few inches away from the device, it just ignores it. It didn't detect it the first time I plugged in, when the range extender creates a default WiFi for configuration, nor did it detect it afterwards. I tried naming the SSID the same as my main router's and also putting a different name, but with no result.
This issue doesn't make sense to me, any ideas on what's wrong and how can I solve it?

Maybe you can download InSSIDer and use it to scan on your laptop.

Thanks for your answer!
I just downloaded InSSIDer 4 but it asks for a license key, no free alternatives available?

Okay, just managed to get InSSIDer running.
But still the same, this software doesn't show my range extender's wifi SSID, as if it doesn't exist.
I'm guessing this is a problem of my laptop's hardware (wireless adapter?), which for some reason is not able to detect the extender's wifi, or just ignores it? I know the range extender is working fine because as I said other laptops, the mobile devices and even my Kindle detect it and connects fine.
But I have been using this laptop for about three years and never had a single problem detecting and connecting to new wifis: when moving from home, when changing the router, in the libraries, on friends houses'...
Damn, this is really annoying.

It seems to be compatibility problem, what's the model of your wireless adapter?

Finally I managed to solve the problem, just by updating the wireless adapter driver! mine is an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230
In case someone else runs into the same problem, I went to Device Manager -> Network adapters -> Right click on the adapter's name -> Update software
After that the extender's wifi is visible and I can connect to it perfectly!

I have got the same problem on my laptop.
OS: windows 10

I have also updated the driver and Firmware but it's still the same.
If you have any suggestions please let me know.
