Hi, I've just purchased a TD-W8960N after having my previous router intermittently dropping the connection to my ISP, with very low SNR margin down to 3.5 db and lower 1.1 db), with BT & ISP both checking the landline connections and insistent that nothing is wrong. It's cheaper to replace the old router than find that BT or ISP engineers come out and find it's my router at fault!

The TD-W8960N is now up and running, with both hard & wireless connections initially looking okay.

Every router I've come accross seems to display their Diagnostics differently, but I''ve run the Sys Log, which comes up & includes the following lines . . . .

interface 79.75.222.161, UPSTREAM ver=0x22 name=ppp0 index=14
interface 192.168.1.1, DOWNSTREAM ver=0x22 name=br0 index=8

Can someone confirm what the 'index' refers to - I can't find any explanation on TP-LINK's website.
