Abyssimal download but good upload speed on DSL

I have a strange problem with the W9970. I have a 15/10 DSL connection. Everything's fine and after a couple of weeks, download get as low as 0.01 mbits, which is to me virtually 0. But upload is absolutely fine. i searched the internet and nothing worked. All the solutions are related to some kind of QOS enabled. It wasn't my case. And wired is also affected. Only solution so far is to cycle power on the modem and reboot.
Looks like to me that some deamon in memory crash at some point, or a memory leak. But there is a problem with the modem and/or the firmware. I think it should be investigated.
