Hi,

My main Wifi router is in a bedroom up stairs and I and a RE210 range extender up stairs in a central location and a second RE210 downstairs in a different central location. I have connected the upstairs RE210 over the WiFi to the main WiFi router and then the downstairs RE210 to the upstairs RE210. So my network looks like :

Main WiFi router - Upstairs RE210 - Down stairs RE210.

What I am finding is that this setup is working very well for around a month after which I start having issues with the downstairs RE210. What is happening is that I can see and connect to the RE210 over WiFi but I can't then see the internet. For example when I am down stairs I have a full Wifi signal but my devices are showing no internet connection and as soon as I go up stairs the issue resolves itself. At first I was running different WiFi network names on each of the devices but as I was hitting this issue I changed this approach and I am now extending the same network name on all devices. However this has not fixed the issue. I have just switched to a static IP on both of the RE210 as I am wondering if this is a IP leasing issue, I have just done this so I don't know if this will work.

The other odd thing is that once that issue starts the downstairs RE210 will not recover unless I reset it back to factory defaults and set it up again. I also check the device and no error messages are being shown in the logs, all of this lights are green, etc.

I am starting to wonder if I have a faulty device.

Any thoughts or comments welcome,

Trev
