TL-WR902AC - No LAN-Client possible with 3G/4G USB modem

Firmware Version : TL-WR902AC(EU)_V1_160905
Hallo everyone.
When I want to go online with a 3G/4G USB modem, I have to use the Mode "Share ETH (Name on website of device: Standard Router)"
In this mode the WAN/LAN-Port is set to "WAN", and it is not possible to set the Port to "LAN" to connect a PC as a LAN-Client.
The Germany TP-Link support told me, that this was possible with the previous model TL-WR802N.
Did somebody know, why this is not possible with the TL-WR902AC?
And will it be fixed in an upcoming firmware release?
Best regards,
Tuffi

What does TP-LINK intend to do with it - for me it is a serious limitation on the functionality of the hardware!
I hope the company will release a software patch and the LAN port will be available as in the previous model TL-WR802N.

Well this really sucks!!! I just purchased two of these units thinking that I can use these with my 3g/4g modem and share the ethernet port as LAN, not WAN... I sure hope that this will be fixed in a software update . I wanted to purchase a whole bunch more of these, but if the port is only going to be a WAN port on the ethernet, I can not use them. :(:(:(

This is a major problem for me. This needs to be fixed, how hard could it be.

The ME3020 had an option for 4G/3G only which disabled the WLAN on the RJ45, surely such an option can be added or indeed maybe just a disabled option on the WAN setting to allow it to become a LAN port and work like the 3020 did.

Good idea! you can send a feedback to tp-link support.
However, this is also related to a hardware part. It seems to be impossible to add this option for current hardware.
