Archer D20 usb led flashing

Archer D20 usb led flashing

Every time I connect the usb drive to the modem while it's powered, the usb led flashes for a while then goes steady on (correct).
But if the usb drive is already connected to the modem at power on, or after launching a reset, the led remains permanently flashing, even if the drive work fine.
Any idea?
