I have checked the laptop(Asus) network capability and found that it only supports 2.4ghzz. However, I would like to know if I buy a wifi usb (to detect the 5ghz wifi) and insert to the us port of my laptop, will I able to access the Internet from my laptop? My phone can access the 5ghz wifi whereas my phone can't. I tested my laptop's internal wifi adapter and it seems to be functioning properly since it is able connect to my phone's hotspot. Both of the device used to be able to connect to 2.4ghz but now can't. Maybe a storey apart may be the reason for the connection failure. Do you have any wifi adapter that is suitable for 5ghz and my laptop is running on the windows 7 OS so the adapter driver should be compatible with windows7 as well.
