My router and the printer are on the only network I have and I can see the SSID and password of the router on the printer display screen.

Without the extender switched on, the printer works.

When the extender is switched on, I use the SSID it came with, TP_LINK_EXT.. and the same password as my router.
The printer then disappears and cannot be found on my laptop.

When I switch the extender off, the printer usually reappears.

I do not have any IP conflict messages showing on the laptop or printer.

The extender is a WA-850RE and marked version 1.25, bought in 2016.
I assume the firmware update available on the website which is 1.2 and dated 2015 would not cure the problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?
