I just recently bought an archer C2 (AC750) router, to replace my old TP link router. Theres to say, I dont use it as a router, but as an accesspoint, behind a fiber router.
The Fibre-Router hosts the DHCP:
DHCP Range: 192.168.1.64 to 253. The router itself taking 254.
I assigned the Archer the IP 253 and disabled DHCP, NAT and nearly everything else.

I have internet access, but in short periods all my clients lose connection (several pcs and wlan clients)

The log from C2 look like that:

1 2017-06-19 20:31:11 DHCPC Notice Recv no OFFER, DHCP Service unavailable
2 2017-06-19 20:31:08 DHCPC Notice Send DISCOVER with request ip 0.0.0.0 and unicast flag 0
3 2017-06-19 20:31:05 DHCPC Notice Send DISCOVER with request ip 0.0.0.0 and unicast flag 0
4 2017-06-19 20:31:00 DHCPC Notice Send DISCOVER with request ip 0.0.0.0 and unicast flag 1
5 2017-06-19 20:30:57 DHCPC Notice Send DISCOVER with request ip 0.0.0.0 and unicast flag 1
6 2017-06-19 20:30:54 DHCPC Notice Send DISCOVER with request ip 0.0.0.0 and unicast flag 1

I already updatet the firmware. The Subnetmask ist 255.255.0.0 on both, the Router and the C2.

Any Ideas where the issue could have its origin?

Regards
Tim

configure the wan to static and put ip address like 10.0.0.1 to it so router won't send DHCP to wan side.
pcs are connected to C2 or main router? wired or wireless? when they those internet, can they still ping the gateway?

I have exactly the same problem with a C2300 v1 running the latest firmware (2.0.3 which is quite old, from 09/2018).

While in Access Point mode, it keeps sending DHCP requests every ˜10 seconds even if the IP address is static.

Changing IP address from Static to Dynamic and then back to Static solves the problem, but it is temporary. Rebooting the router the issue appears again and the device starts flooding the network with DHCP requests again.

Making the IP Dynamic and reserving it on the main router does have the same effect (temporarily solves the problem until the next reboot/power cycle).

This is clearly a defect in the firmware, something that TP-Link should fix, but a more recent firmware is only available for the “v2” and the “v1” seems to be abandoned.

Shame on you TP-Link to treat your products and customers like this.

PS: I am crossposting this on purpose since TP-Link is ignoring this issue since this product was launched - see also another threads about the this exact same (and unsolved) problem at:
