The Power Adapter of my ARCHER D 7 AC 1750WIRELESS DUAL BAND GIGABIT ADSL 2 + MODEM ROUTER had 12 V with 1.2A. As the adapter became non-functional, the local service centre in Kolkata replaced it with one having 12 V but less amp i.e., 1A instead of 1.2A. Will the new adapter with less amp be compatible with my modem router as they said with some hesitation or will it cause any damage?
Can I use a power adapter with 12V BUT 2 A as available in the market?

12v 1a is fine but we can not use 12v 2a, it will damage the unit.
