WR-941HP signal issues

Hello, I'm new to this forum and honestly to configuring networks.
I recently bought a WR-941HP router because my house is relatively big (170 square meters) and my old router didn't have enough signal strength.
Think of my house as an L where the bottom right corner is where my router is located (my living room, where most of my wired things are), and my room is on the at the higher spot on the L, the signal on my network is suposedly very strong, but for some reason the connection is reaaaally slow, when I'm at my living room, my speed test is around 40MB download, and 5MB upload, when I'm at my room, it's 05, MB and 02MB or something like that, sometimes 5MB download but nothing higher than that, the weird part is that even the router settings are slow (192.168.1.1 admin panel).
I'm thinking maybe my router should be placer in an specific way? Not sure but this signal difference is very weird in my opinion, specially since this router is supposed to cover a lot more than my house radius.
Any help please?

Thanks Kevin, unfortunately I tried changing the channel and reposition the router, I don't have many options to reposition it thought but I redirected the antenas to my bedroom and still have no fantastic results, in that bedroom there is another router with another ISP (adsl and very slow) that I have as backup in case of the main ISP going down (given I work at home I need 2 connections). Maybe that router is interfeering? I see 100% signal strenght but internet is super slow compared, goes from 30MB to 0.5MB download

I think it is the range extender mode but they say it is WDS, although they are the same.

WR-941HP signals resets when too much people is using it.
Really sucks and is the last TP router I'll ever buy.
Support is also a joke since all answers are "this is was designed by the engineering team".
Such a underwhelming product with no updates and new firmware.

The router resets itself? How many clients connect to the WiFi signal at the same time?

The problem I'm having and I can't really fix... is that if I'm near the router... it works fine.. If I'm far from the router (but I still have exellent signal strength) my internet speed is lame... most of the times doesn't even work... It's frustrating since I bought this because it is supposed to give you good signal everywhere... but it doesn't transmit internet properly...
