I don't know how much complaining here will do. I'd encourage everyone to email customer support about this - at least metrics are (presumably) gathered on customer support tickets.

I contacted tp-link support, and they stated that no firmware for v1 to bring the v2 extra features is planned. :(

I emailed support, and they replied stating that there won't be updates to the v1 firmware to add the features found in the v2 firmware, sadly :(

I had the same problem with a VR400 and the 5 GHz radio - it was unusable. I took it back for refund. I believe this symptom is a hardware fault.

Looking through the User Guides, there's significant functionality in the v2 compared to the v1: * VPN server (OpenVPN, PPTP, or IPSEC - user can choose which to use) * Network security functionality...
