Hi, Take care the max speed of iPad and iPhone is 65Mbps. iPad supports 2.4 and 5GHz, iPhone only 2.4GHz. To test the real wifi throughput use : LAN Speed Test

As the WDR4900 is full of bugs and the last firmware is dated April 2013, I do not think TP-Link capable to improve this product...
