OC200 Poe not working? a defect or something?
Hi,
I've been powering my OC200 thru its mini usb port and I just got my POE router and another EAP225-outdoor.
I've connected my EAP225-outdoor to my POE router and they are working fine. But the OC200 is not powering up. I tried to use the POE of the EAP225 to power my OC200 and still can't get it to power. I've been troubleshooting it but with no avail. I tried searching the internet if ever it needs to be enabled but non and found out that there are people who have the same problem and they are just using the mini usb port. Is this a defect? or are there any simple solution that can solve this? other than using a mini usb power.
Warranty is a hassle and I'm far for the city and very inconvince to wait for the replacement or something.
Regards,
JJG

Make sure you conect the OC200 to an IEEE 802.3af-conforming PoE power source. The PoE adapter of EAP225 uses passive PoE, which is not IEEE 802.3af-conforming. Maybe you router also provides passive PoE. The EAP supports both, passive PoE and standard 802.3af, but the OC200 only supports the latter.
If in doubt, try a TL-POE105S 802.3af-conforming PoE adapter - I use this adapter all the time for customers who don't want to buy a PoE switch. When cofiguring/preparing an OC200 for those customers in the lab, I use a standard PoE switch. I never had any problem to power up OC200s using either an 802.3af PoE switch or the TL-POE105S.

My new router only have passive POE (can be enable and disable).
Is it an UBNT EdgeRouter? Anyway, take a look at TL-POE150S PoE injector or consider use of TL-SG108PE. Both PoE devices are not too expensive.
Any news on the release of a new firmware of the eap225-outdoor V1. The latest firmware got a big bug in it but its still available for download, many are downgrading firmwares.
Latest firmware for EAP225-Outdoor is 1.5.0 Build 20190404. What bug did you find?

Hi R1D2
Here is the thread that I created.
Its a bit messy but here is a thread with more details.
In the TPLink firmware download of EAP225-outdoor, the latest firmware is 7.39MB against the two older version with 8.8MB each, so can assume they forgot to package the "Username and password" in EAPs when no Omada Controller is present.

forgot to answer your question, yes i bought the edgerouter as the POE router because I'm just using a small WIFI router and was hoping that it will solve some problems with Smart QoS.
Regarding the beta version, I'm good with the downgraded version but I'm just concern on the downlaod page of TPLINK. People bought the eap225-outdoor for its business fuction but the latest firmware have a bug. I only found out about it when a customer asked why do they have internet even when they didn't pay for it thats about 1 week after I update the firmware. Is there a possibility to take the lates firmware down?

I use EdgePoint (which basically is an EdgeRouter in an outdoor case) to power EAP225-Outdoor. Both, EdgeRouter and EdgePoint support only proprietary PoE (so-called »passive PoE«, 24 volts), which is suitable for EAP225, but not for OC200.

That's really bad. Didn't notice this bug because we use our own Captive Portal running on the router; Omada Controller is used only for management here, not for portal functions.
Yes, you can downgrade EAP225 to the previous firmware version. Just use manual upgrade in Omada Controller and upload the previous firmware image.

Hi @JessieG ,
When the Omada Controller is off-line, normally the voucher portal cannot work, but with the latest version of firmware, the clients can still pass the authentication when the Omada Controller is off-line. We have noticed this issue and we are fixing this problem.
We plan to fix this issue in next version of firmware.
