Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20191021 rel.40149(5553)

Recently bought AX3000 and have been using for 2 weeks

The wifi router keeps booting at a randomly time daily and multiple time in succession. Usually occurs when I am streaming from my TV.

Is it a faulty hardware?

Hardware Version: Archer AX50 v1.0

Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20191021 rel.40149(5553)

@flying.chipmunk I'd like to know this as well. Same router, but I'm on 1.0.6 Build 20200121 rel.54912(5553) firmware. I just installed this thing last night and it's rebooted itself close to a dozen times, twice while I've been working at home. I think it's a heat issue. I felt the top and it was warm, but felt the bottom and it was really hot, so I've flipped the router over so the heat can escape from the vents. I've no idea why they didn't add vents to the top, but I have a feeling I'll be taking a dremel to mine to add vents. Engineering failure, or some idiot with no technical knowledge made the decision to go without vents because it looked cooler.

@Adam_N

I agree with you, I posted about it awhile back too.

I also bought the TP-Link AX50 router, knock on wood, its been working fine for weeks without rebooting but i did change a couple of settings on the router and also i have the router wall mounted with the LAN ports oriented on the right.

on the review site below you can see a PCB with heatsink pic of the AX50

"https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.techbang.com%2Fposts%2F73076-tp-link-archer-ax50-wireless-router-review-wi-fi-6-80211ax-intel-gig-plus-enters-the-mainstream-market-to-accelerate-generational-rotation"

i think the reason why its rebooting and having wifi issues and resetting is mostly due to heat.

the heatsink is just not tall or big enough to soak up the heat generated by the chip, so by orienting or wallmounting the router it will increase the area of heatsink the heat can soak into.

I also set following wifi settings on the router

2.4Ghz

OFDMA > ON

Smart Connect > OFF

SSiD > what ever you like

SECURITY > WPA/WPA2 personal

Version > WPA2

Encryption > AES

Mode > Mixed

Channel W > 40 Mhz

Channel > 9

Transmit Power > High

Airtime Fairness > CHECKED

5Ghz

OFDMA > ON

Smart Connect > OFF

SSiD > what ever you like

SECURITY > WPA/WPA2 personal

Version > WPA2

Encryption > AES

Mode > Mixed

Channel W > Auto

Channel > 64 DFS

Transmit Power > Low ..... i don't have any other device that can do 5ghz except my phone

Airtime Fairness > CHECKED

System Tools

Traffic Monitor > ON

System Parameters

2.4Gz and 5Ghz same settings

Beacon Interval > 90

RTS Threshold > 2307

DTIM > 3

Group Key Renewal > 300

Above are my settings for now, and its been stable.

@flying.chipmunk Welp, so far after flipping the router upside down I've has 100% reliability so far (under 24 hours still). I think I'll just take my dremel to the top of the case and make some more vents to see what that does. Thanks for the settings, I'll give them a shot if I have any more issues.
