Apologies, I should have stated I was going to wait for the OC200 v4.1.4 upgrade to be released first before attempting to upgrade the EAP245 APs.

However, back to my question - once the OC200 upgrade is released will it be straight forward to upgrade the EAP245 APs to Build 20200423 without the need to backup and reapply all settings?

Here was my experience the EAP225V3 -- but the EAP245V3 would be similar:

1) download but do not install updated EAP firmwares to your local PC.

2) log into the web UI of the OC200 (locally, not cloud) and backup your settings.  Run a second backup with data, too, if desired.

3) log into the web UI of the OC200 (locally, not cloud) and check for upgrade, and apply update -- this deletes all Omada settings.

4) After OC200 update, log in, go to devices

5) It should find your devices, but list them as "managed by others"

6) First, adopt ONE EAP

7) After it is adopted (will likely need to supply username and password), the manually apply firmware file to ONE EAP.

NOTE -- in my case, I have multiple EAP's. and I was doing this from a wirelessly connected PC.  If you are hardwired you could potentially adopt/update more than one at a time.

8) Now, once you have an EAP fully adopted and upgraded.  Now configure your Wireless settings in SDN.  This could have been done earlier, but wouldn't have relaly mattered until after step 7.

Now, I think some people have claimed that you could use your prior Omada backup at this point to re-configure SDN.  But, I didn't do this.  I'm always afraid of using a backup from one version of software for a current install with a different version of sofware.  But perhaps this will work, I don't know.  I just set everything up again from scratch which wasn't a big deal for me (home environment).

9) At this point, the SDN is configured the same (more or less) as the old Omada was re: SSID's, wireless settings.  At this point I felt safe downing my other EAP (adopt), then upgrade, without concern over losing my Wifi connection on my laption.

10) Finally, I adopted, and then upgraded the firmware of my wirelessly MESHed EAP225-OD.

This worked well for me.  Took me a little while to find the necessary settings in SDN.  I'm still getting used to the UI now a couple days on.

I jumped the gun and updated first the firmware when offered in the GUI and, after losing access from the old software controller, to version 4.1.5 but still don't have admin access.

The good news is that the wireless network is still working; the bad news is that the Windows shortcut to uninstall 4.1.5 isn't working 

Since I have a complex setup with VLANs, ACLs etc, I'm hoping to find a way to go back manually and reconfigure with my saved backup file
