TL-R605 and TL-ER7206 IPv6 support
TL-R605 and TL-ER7206 IPv6 support
On TL-R605 Specifications pages and on TL-ER7206 datasheet, following is written: IPv6 is being developed and will be updated in the following software versions
What this means in practice i.e. what is the planned schedule for IPv6 support?
Which kind of IPv6 firewall functionality is planned for these?

@KTuulos Not sure if they would implement it as NAT66 or broadcast both IPv6 networks as your address space would be different from each provider.
But I agree this is a major issue as we have many endpoints that are only IPv6 enabled at this point.
Hopefully someone will pick up the ball on this at TPLink

as I know, firstly very soon there will be not-a-big controller update to 4.3.x and only then there will be huge 5.0.0 update, where most likely IPv6 support will be added for SDN and for routers with a new fw. So, I guess, it will take some time, not the closest one.

Just setup my TL-R605 (ER605) with IPV6 working under firmware 1.1.0
Took a bit of fiddling to get it to work with BT internet but it works and gets 10/10 in IPV6 test.

I set IPV6 like this
On the WAN side
Internet
Internet Connection Type: PPPoE
PPPoE same session with IPv4 connection Tick
Advanced
Get IPv6 Address: Auto
Prefix Delegation: Enable
Prefix Delegation Size: 56 (this is a BT internet requirement)
DNS Address Use the following DNS Addresses
Primary DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8888
Secondary DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8844
on the LAN side
LAN(VLAN): 1
Assigned Type: SLAAC+Stateless DHCP
Prefix: Get from Prefix Delegation
IPv6 Prefix Delegation WAN: WAN
IPv6 Prefix ID: 64
DNS Address: Manual DNS
Primary DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8888
Secondary DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8844
I fiddled about until something worked, this is with UK BT internet FTTP.
I have not setup any rules.

@Gary_C from where can I download firmware 1.1.0 please? I only see available version 1.0.1 on the official TP-Link support page.

They released 1.1.0, then withdrew it due to a bug, then there was a beta version released. NOTE, this is a beta version, not a full release but it appears to work (though I note, more CPU is being used, the web interface is not as quick to respond and it seems to dial an IPV6 PPPoE connection ever second)
Its here https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/266026
Hopefully it means a full official release is not far off.

@Gary_C Thanks! I think I will await the official release for my production router. Hopefully we will have a fully functioning IPv6 stack.
