Unable to implement URL filtering in my Omada AP
Unable to implement URL filtering in my Omada AP
I was trying to implement what I read in an older thread about ACL and URL filtering but every time I tried it, it won't work.
Could anyone help me, please?

You should set URL filtering, not ACL. ACL is to block/deny LAN to LAN.
For the parameters of URL filtering, source type should be the devices/SSID which you want to deny to access YouTube and Facebook.
Do you want to block all devices that connect to EAP SSID from accessing YouTube and Facebook? Or just want to block some of those devices?

@Somnus I want to block Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, every social media to all the connected devices to that particular SSID

I applied this one, but it seems not working. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
One URL with a wildcard(*) can match multiple subdomains.
To ensure the URL filtering can deny the desired websites, it's suggested to add the URL with a wildcard(*).
Please try to deny the following domains and test whether the clients connected to the SSID can still access those websites.
*.youtube.*
*.facebook.*
*.Instagram.*
*.spotify.*
*.twitter.*
Add more if there is any...Hope it helps.

@Fae Hi. I used the URLs as you said but it didn't work. i really don't know what's happening because it seems to be the easiest way to block websites.

There might be multiple domain names for those social websites, so it's hard to block the social websites via one URL, you may need to add every domain format to block them.
For example, the domain name of YouTube could also be "youtube.xxxx", then try adding youtube.* in the Deny rule and see if it works.
If you still can access all websites, please clear the DNS cache to double-check it.
If you are using Google browser for testing, please try other browsers like Firefox and see if it makes any difference.
Besides, you may check and write down the accessible URLs, compare them with the URLs you added in the Deny rule.
