10GE omada switch?
Why is there still no 10GB/10GE ethernet (so not SFP) switch which works with the Omada system?
Right now I have a 1Gbit internet connection, but soon I can ugrade to 8Gbit and my network needs to be ready dor this.
I have a full Omada environment and I really want to stick to this, but to me all other brands have 10GE switches except for TP-link/omada which I think is 'a bit strange'.
Or am I missing something here?

Two birds, one stone. With SFP+ ports, one product can be used for either ethernet or fibre 10G connections. You also don't need to spend the $40 or so on internal components per port to provide those 10GBE ports natively and you keep the entry price point for some pretty capable boxes down while future proofing them. I certainly don't want to spend another $100 on a switch for 2x10GbE ports I'm not going to use (i just bought an SG-2210P because it supports POE across all 8 ports, to replace a previous 2008P which only does 4) for $150. Case in point, 16port non-POE 10G switch T1700X-16TS is C$1100 and the 16port POE+ 150W TL-SG1016PE is C$188.
I'm with the TPlink product guy on this one :) You can 'upgrade' an SFP+ capable Omada router (7206, 8411) or switch (SG2210(M)P etc.) for C$75/port or so and make it 10G capable.

@d0ugmac1 Yes, I was also thinking of that solution.. But I want my whole wired network to be 10GE and in that case, there is simply no solution yet.
I need 16 ports of 10GE and buying 16x SPF is pretty expensive and I think a bit of a tricky/waiting for a bad connection solution.

Price per copper port is a bit bonkers...but no SFP's! Hopefully the shape of the future :)
