Dual-WAN on Archer AX95 (AX7800)
Hi
I have two ISP connections at home. 1st is a 5G modem with 1000/150Mb. 2nd is a cable modem with 50/50Mb.
I used to have a TP-Link ER605 Multi-WAN router setup, so 1st modem was main and 2nd was backup in case 1st modem failed.
This worked great until the ER605 died, so I decided to get a Dual-WAN Wi-Fi router with 2.5Gb port, as I soon can get a 5G modem with 2.5Gb port and ~2Gb DL speed.
All is hooked up to AX95. The 5G modem is plugged into the 2.5Gb port and I have devices on LAN + 3 Wi-Fi channels 2.4GHz + 5GHz (1) + 5GHz (2). All works fine.
Then I plug in the cable modem on the 1Gb port and the AX95 automatically bridges all the devices on 5GHz (1) Wi-Fi channel directly to the cable modem and its DHCP setup. The 2.5Gb port still has the LAN + 2.4GHz + 5GHz (2) devices.
There are no Dual-WAN configuration possibilities in the latest firmware, and I wonder what’s the point of having two WAN ports if only one can be configured.
I hope TP-link comes with a better firmware soon.
Has anyone else tried dual-WAN on the Archer AX95?
