I was using this load balancer when I had 2 internet connection. Now I have only one connection. Hence, can I use it as a switch as an additional Ethernet port extender?

Yes and no. You cannot deny the NAT feature of this device. But you can use it to extend your ports but this will be on a different subnet if you are aware of what this means to you.
