ER706W Fails to Reboot Properly from the GUI
ER706W Fails to Reboot Properly from the GUI

The ER706W hardware version is actually 1.20
The ER706W is new (less than a week old) and I have tried to reboot the router twice from the GUI in standalone mode. Each time, the router has failed to reboot. It seems to recycle through a sequence of the SYS LED on, then the WLAN LED comes on, then a short flicker occurs of the LAN port LEDs, then back to the SYS LED only. On this last attempt, I waited 15 minutes before disconnecting the power. After powering back up, everything seems to be OK after the cold start. The problem appears to be a firmware bug in the reboot process.

I do appreciate your help even though there is some misunderstanding between us. When you stated "you can consider", it was taken as a suggestion and not a step-by-step troubleshooting procedure that had to be followed in a certain order. In any case, I am sending the configuration file and let's hope we can find the problem.

The company requires a new grammar and tone checking system, which is quite bad as I find. It changes the wording sometimes and entirely misinterprets or changes the original meaning I am trying to say. As I have iterated, I want a result in a controlled environment, which should explain what I mean in bringing up the reset.

I have sent it to the test team and am waiting for an update.
Will get back as soon as I am updated.

With no new updates on this issue, I did some more testing today in an attempt to pinpoint the problem and here are the results:
1. Before starting, I did a backup of the current settings.
2. I downloaded a new copy of the 1.2.0 Build 20250428 firmware from the official Spanish website.
3. In the GUI of the gateway, I did a firmware update with the new file. After the update loaded, the gateway hung during the reboot and it was necessary to power it down.
4. I had to do an emergency recovery, reverting back to the 1.1.3 firmware.
5. I then did a factory reset of the gateway, after which I only configured the admin user and password.
6. Again I did a firmware update and the update was successful. I tested the reboot function and it worked OK.
7. I then configured the WAN settings for WAN2 and WAN/LAN3. I also configured the WAN/LAN3 port for link backup. Afterwards, I rebooted the gateway using the GUI and it rebooted OK.
8. I then configured an additional 4 VLANs (subnets, DHCP ranges, etc.). After configuring the VLANs, I checked the DHCP client list and several clients were connected. As these clients still had their previously reserved IP addresses, I took the opportunity to reserve the addresses again. This time, in attempting a reboot, the reboot failed as before. It was after adding the VLANs that the problem reappeared.
9. Finally, I did a factory reset and reverted back to the old firmware. I restored the settings with the backup file and everything is now OK.
Hopefully, your dev team can figure this out soon.

Test and dev have not updated anything yet.
Will forward this list to them to review.

After upgrading the firmware today with the latest release (ver 1.2.2), the gateway reboots OK.
