Model: TL-WA1201
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Have a TL-WA1201, but have a few questions because I just want to add this to my network to create a few extra SSID's. I put it on mutti SSID, and I can change the name.

I have just put it on the ISP modem, it gets the IP from the modem. I would like to either isolate it (Have selected isolation) but it does allow ping to any device in the network. I am not able to change the IP to something else (example 10.X.X.X) so its separated from the actual network.

Thanks.

TL-WA1201 is a dedicated access point - it doesn't have any routing capabilities - that' why you can't change the address to 10.X.X.X.

In Multi-SSID mode the TL-WA1201 should be used in conjuction with a VLAN capable router - his way you can isolate TL-WA1201's different SSIDs.

In short, you won't be able to isolate your devices in different networks with your existing hardware.

Better use your TL-WA1201 as a standalone AP or as a range extender to exapnd your ISP modem wireless coverage.
