Model: OC300
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.30.7 Build 20250704 Rel.78617

On my remote logging server, I see occasional warning level messages (about wireless association times) coming from the gateway.  The controller is configured for warning level messages in the global system settings but I am not receiving any warning messages in the controller logs.  Is that normal?  One would think that a warning message generated by the gateway would show up in the controller log.

Hi  @jra11500

Thanks for posting here.

The wireless-related logs might have been reported to the controller by the EAP rather than the gateway. Please search the controller logs using the relevant MAC address to check if corresponding log entries were generated.

In the controller logs, there are no warning level messages at all.  There are only info level messages.  The association timeout messages are definitely coming from the ER706W and not any of the other access points.  These messages even include the ER706W's radio channel.  The messages themselves are nothing to worry about as the issue appears to be with only one or two devices that roam.  What I am curious about is why there are no warning level messages in the controller logs.

Hi  @jra11500

To better understand the specific log details, could you please provide screenshots of both logs you mentioned for our reference? Kindly ensure all MAC addresses are masked in the screenshots. Thank you.

BTW, what's the firmware version of the ER706W you are using?

  @Vincent-TP

I have never masked out anything on screenshots and need to learn the procedure.  Almost all of the controller log entries are as follows:

Gateway DHCP Server Module Information

DHCP Server allocated IP address 192.168.50.104 for the xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx

The log server entries (warning level) from the ER706W look like this:

Warning

192.168.20.1

user

ER706W

2025-08-07 08:49:26 wireless<4>: [client:xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx] failed to connected to [ap:xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx] with SSID "WiFi_3880_5G" on channel 48 because the Association times out. (1 time in a minute)

The ER706W hardware version is 1.20 and the firmware version is 1.2.2 Build 20250722 Rel.78330(4555).

Hi  @jra11500

Thanks for the info.

Please check the log settings on this page:

If it's already enabled, please search this MAC address on the controller's log page and see if there is any related log.

BTW, what's the AP MAC belongs to? Is it an EAP's MAC addres?

  @Vincent-TP

I finally found the Client tab under Logs, Notifications, Event, and finally Client.  The setting you mentioned was disabled and I have now enabled it for Email notifications.  I will continue to monitor everything.

The AP MAC address in the warning message is that of the ER706W.
