Some further observations

Is it Labels, or Tags?

(also, im not really sure what the point of these are since we can give the port a name anyway?)

>>>>I think this tag could serve as a filter option, since names can't be used for filtering

Missing Storm Cotnrol Threshold % in Direct port editing - profile overrides, but it IS there in editing a port profile (such as they are)

>>>>That's wierd, I can see it on my interface. Maybe you need to refresh the controller, or clear the browser cache:

Should be "Reboot Schedule" and not just "Schedule"

 >>>I think calling it "Schedule" is good. There might be other schedules in the future, like the "LED Schedule" that everyone's been giving feedback about recently.

Hi  @Kenallo

Thanks for the feedback. We will add it.

why does it need TCP port 29817 opened to have wireless clients appear on the dashboard? It's not even mentioned on the release note.

Hi  @Kenallo

This is the first trial version with watermarks, and we've already notified users about it.

The cloud login issue was indeed unexpected, but fortunately, it's been fixed promptly—thanks for the feedback.

@Vincent-TP You should mention on the notes that all the BETA controller published here don't have Cloud Access. Some bold users may just upgrade it on the production environment.

Hi  @GRL

Thank you for the detailed feedback, please see my answers below:

The new switch port stuff is ....weird

You can still edit port profiles and apply them to a port, but it doesnt change the port native/tagged settings at all ?

I edited this switch port that had the correct port pvid inherited from my config and previously set profile from controller 5.15.  I selected a different port profile, and you can see the profile is changed, but the pvidnative of the port remained what it was.

 >>>> The switch port profile in V6 no longer supports VLAN configuration. I’ve reviewed all your suggestions on this and forwarded them to the relevant team. They are currently discussing it, and I’ll provide updates as soon as a clear conclusion is reached. Thank you!

@MR.S

This is a mess

-- "and introduced cross-device bulk management of Tag, Network, and Profile settings in Device Config > Switch Ports > Port Settings."

If you have a number of switches its just a WALL OF PORTS - it needs distinct seperation bewteen switches.  A much better approach would be to use the same visual representation of the switches and their ports as you get in the LAN add/edit screen now.  It really helps to visualise which port is what when you have hundreds of them

--GOOD

NOT GOOD

>>> This is forwarded, and they are evaluating the suggestion.

Other Observations

-i immediately noticed this.  Why is MAC Filtering in the ACL tab of managing the gateway> surely it should be its own option in the list on the left?

>>> It's likely to be optimized in Omada V6.2---Not guaranteed.cool

- As Mr.S said, the insights tab should have IDS/IPS threat reports, VPN status in it as well at minimum

- I think the DNS Cache and DNS Proxy tabs are the wrong way around in the two places i found them - you can't enable cache without proxy so proxy should come first

>>>This is accepted. :)

- This is very bad wording for what i think is a switch-only vlan?  A vlan doesnt have to have a DHCP server, and the presence or lack of one on the gateway doesnt define it as a gateway interface or a switched vlan, this is nonsensical!

Which gets even more strange when you can select an omada switch - i presume here - as the DHCP server, relay or none

Perhaps a better way of wording this is "VLAN Host" > "Gateway, List of Switches, Other"

>>>This is also under discussion.

-Sad to see gateway LAN<>LAN ACLs still dont support ip groups or ip port groups, which i think was mentioned as on the roadmap for 5.16 ages and ages ago, which obviously became v6 :-(

Overall, this is a MAJOR interface change from anything we have had before.  I kinda like it - overall the placement of things is more logical, but its such a big change it will take some getting used to, but im just playing around on a windows controller in a VM with a restored backup from my OC300 so cant really do much

Hi  @b10up

Thank you for the detailed feedback. Please see my response below:

At first glance, I like it. Especially the 'device config' section that becomes full screen.

Things that come to mind:

Broken 2.4GHz channel selector on EAP225 models

If i open an EAP225 device's wireless config page, the 2.4GHz section says "No available channels. Please check your Channel Range and Channel Width configurations": The channel selector is on "Auto" and there are no channels on the list. 5GHz is fine, i see the channels in the dropdown properly.  In the previous controller, the EAP225 APs didn't have channel range selector, just the dropdown.  My EAP610 devices don't have this issue and the channel range selector works fine on 5GHz on both controller versions.

>>>We will fix it—thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Page jumping on refresh

While the API loading is in progress, the table disappears and i see a loading spinner.  It would be nice if this could happen in the background, and on successful API calls, only the changed values were updated in the tables.  This is much worse on the dashboard, because it re-plays the animations.
>>>During the loading process, a loading status will be displayed. If we remove this directly, users might not perceive the refresh operation when there's no data update. Thank you for your understanding.

Upload rate has no value on the clients list

It doesn't matter if the client is wired or wireless, the upload rate is always "-".  The same in the "manage client" section. I don't see the "Upload speed", just the "download"

>>>This is a new feature in V6, which requires the corresponding devices to be upgraded to a V6-compatible version. We will add a corresponding notification.

On clients list, the SSID and Network columns should be just one "Network" column.
If the device is wireless, then the Network column is "-" and vica versa. It would be more space-saver if these were just one "Network" column and the connection mode is wireless, then show a wireless icon next to the SSID text. Just like on the AP list, when an AP has wireless uplink.
>>>Version 6.0 introduces an advanced search feature where both SSID and network are available as search options. Since the search conditions in advanced search use AND logic, we've separated SSID and network into two distinct columns to maintain consistency between the advanced search and list display.

To save space, I would recommend you uncheck some options here:

Band steering is global
It would be nice to have if this would be configureable per AP. For some meshed nodes, band steering is not always ideal.
>>>It's under evaluation.

LED scheduling

For home setups, this would be very useful feature.

>>>It's under evaluation.

  @Vincent-TP

It would have been practical if you could see the IP directly in the overview.

Misspelled disabled on edit voucher pattern

Hi  @Vincent-TP ,

For me new version 6 has worked fine. I just found a misspelled word. Disabed instead of disabled. Removing the annoying "Confidential only for test" wallpaper would be great too.

Thanks for the feedback. We will correct it in the next version.

Hi  @b10up

We are analyzing the upload rate issue you reported, and would like to know the model number and firmware versions of the SDN devices you are using.

Would you please share with us a screenshot of the Devices page of your controller? Thanks.
