@Deziner
Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you want to know if you can use your TP-Link router (such as the HB710) as the main router and Deco Mesh devices (like Deco X20) as access points or as part of a mesh network together.
Here's what you need to know:
TP-Link's Deco, Archer Router, and Omada EAP product lines each support mesh networking, but they use different technologies and are not designed to work together in a single unified mesh network. This means:
• You cannot create a seamless mesh network between a TP-Link router (like HB710) and Deco Mesh devices. Even if you set up Deco units as access points, they will not form a mesh with your main router, and there will be no seamless roaming between the router and Deco units.
• Deco Mesh, OneMesh, EasyMesh, and Omada Mesh are separate technologies. Devices from these different lines cannot be combined into a single mesh network.
• You can use Deco units in Access Point mode, but they will function as regular access points and not as part of a mesh with your main router.
For more details, please refer to https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3749/.
Summary: If you want a true mesh network with seamless roaming, all devices in the mesh must be from the same product line and support the same mesh technology. Deco units can only mesh with other Deco units. Your HB710 router and Deco X20 cannot form a mesh together.
