Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: 1.0.13 Build 231115 Rel.51785n (6985/8575)

Hello,

I have a TL-WA850RE - and it appears to have a bug. Namely, the DHCP settings are being reset to the default 0.0.0.0 after the repeater is rebooted. I've updated the Firmware to the latest version available for the UK region, but this issue is still persisting.

Reproduction steps:

  1. Set up the extended
  2. Log into the extender via the web interface
  3. Click on Network tab in the menu
  4. Set DHCP server setting to On
  5. Set Primary DNS setting to a custom value (in my case, it is 192.168.1.185 - since I am running a pihole)
  6. Save
  7. Confirm that the setting is working correctly
  8. Reboot the extender through the web interface, or through the scheduled reboot
  9. Log into extender via the web interface

Expected: DHCP server settings are persisted. Custom DNS is used.

Actual: DHCP server settings are reset. Primary DNS is set to 0.0.0.0 and default DNS is used instead.

Try the following:

Update the WA850RE to the TL-WA850RE(EU)_V7_1.0.20 Build 250808 from here and test.

If everything's OK then stay on that FW version.

If the issue persists then you upgrade again to TL-WA850RE(EU)_V7_1.1.0 Build 250808 and test again.
