The controller allows for Application Filtering, where you can specify which apps to block or allow. However, the categories make no sense.

"PXrnXgraphy" (yes, I had to sensor this word in order to make this post....Just call it Adult like all other vendors do) only has one website:

Other Adult website are classified as Streaming:

Some categories are just empty and need some cleanup like "Moved", "Removed", etc.

As far as I can tell, it is also not possible to simply block "Streaming" as a category, meaning you would have to manually update the rules every time the App Database gets updated. (If it ever gets updated?)

This is a serious shortcoming to an otherwise incredibly useful feature.

Hi  @Matva

Thanks for posting here.

Could you please share some screenshots about  "Moved", "Removed"?

Sure, it's a category under the Application Filter settings when you create a new Rule:

Both categories contain no entries.

There's also "Deprecated", "Industrial", "Encrypted", "Certificate Authority" and "Unclassified" which has no entries.

The Mobile category has two entries but they both have "removed" in their descriptions:

The Search Engine category does not include Google Search:

So, frankly it's a bit of an unorganized mess at the moment and borderline useless.

I know version 6.3 of the controller is going to re-work the ACL section and will allow you to block specific catagories directly from an ACL, but that will only work if the categories actually make sense.
