Archer C9 - Every time I login asks me for new username + password

Archer C9 v1 Firmware 4.1.0 Build 20160517 Rel. 35411
Every time I login to 192.168.0.1 I get the login screen, for which I enter the default username + password: admin / admin.
I then get asked to input a new username and password every single time. Doesn't matter if I choose a different username or password than the default. Is this normal? Seems odd.
