Hi there,

can anyone confirm if EAP225 V3 supports DFS?

I saw on firmware: says 8. Supports DFS channel function.

But on other website, ppl are saying not supported.

so can anyone confirm it?

thank you.

as far as I can tell, my EAP225v3(US) cannot use DFS bands on latest firmware. the DFS support is only mentioned in EU firmware page. Not sure if EU users are able to use DFS or not.

Hi BoBo32,

Now only EU version support DFS channel, So EU version can use Band1,2,3,  US version can use Band1,4.

Is it necessarily for U to use Band2 and Band3?

@BoBo32

I am also waiting for them to EAP245V3 and EAP225-outdoor APs to support DFS channels from UNII2/UNII2-Extended bands. There is no point to even have the channel bonding options to 40/80MHz wide channel when there is only 9 channels available if you have more then 2 or 3 APs. Also I do not find any option for 802.11r which is in reality fast roaming feature rather then 11v/11k load balancing/power save mode and neigboring channel reports. I do not find these APs enterprise level as advertise without being having some enterprise level features. Can someone please tell me where is this beamforming option on the oc200 because I can't seem to find out under the controller or is it something auto on by default? SSH features never works for me if I try to SSH into oc200 using mac terminal. Insight page should show which AP client is associated with and what RSSI value and other neaty grity details instead all it shows its mac address and last seen with options of rate limiting or block. If i set the RSSI threshold for roaming to any value like -69 and waited for client to roam to another nearby AP with better signal stregnth it never happens for a good few minutes even if client goes to like RSSI -72dbm value. I think software needs to be mature before it can be at enterprise level or close to Ruckus/Aruba/Cisco. Due to these basic things being missing I am inclining to test Unifi wifi nano hd APs to see if they offer basic features. I replaced 2 netgear nighthawk router x10 that was covering my 3500 sqft house with 5 of these and these are no where close to provide same throughput or coverage beside not being 4x4 mu-mimo and only 1750 in 2020 where other vendors wave 2 APs coming with wifi 6 support, 2 802.11a 5GHz band radios, and multigig poe port. It's not fair to classified tp-link solution as enterprise businness level wireless network solutiuon. However, I was attracted to this solution because of it's low cost then other vendors and I agree its a fair trade I saved money for this legacy solution over other known vendors. They need to step up their game seriuosly.  Anyways enough said, I will wait till tplink start making progress towards uphill if I do not end up replacing them with Ubiquiti or Mist.
