Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Don't know

Location - UK

I upgraded my Fibre broadband to G.fast.

The engineer installed a new modem (Huawei MT992) to connect between the line and the router. The router connects to a switch, which connects to the TP-Link.

So:
Old Configuration
Line -> Router -> Switch -> EAP225 - Worked perfectly fine

New Configuration

Line -> Modem-> Router -> Switch -> EAP225 - No power at all

The EAP225 was working just fine under the old configuration, but now no longer powers on under the new one.
I have changed ports on the switches, replaced cables and used a switch port that I know works (since it's plugged into my laptop), but still there is no power to the TP-Link.

No equipment changes, no fautly equipment (other than possibly the TP-Link).

I don't have a power supply for the TP-Link so can't plug into mains (annoyingly).

Hi @Moses_89 ,

You said the EAP device doesn't work after you added the modem to the network topology. So do you mean the LED of the EAP device is off, right?

We are not sure if you enable LED off when you manage the EAP, please reset the EAP devcie and try again. Besides, can you see the information of the EAP on the router?

@forrest

Yes, the LED light is off.

I can't log into the EAP because there is no power so cannot reset it (which I tried to do anyway).
Nothing happens when I push the reset button down for several seconds

Heelo @Moses_89 ,

From your description, I guess that the EAP device may be bricked. In this situation, we can do nothing for this.

You can try to contact local support to ask for a RMA.

@Moses_89

What is the model of the switch? Does it support 802.3af/at or Passive PoE?

@Mitya I don't actually know, but it was working before the new modem was installed, so I'm assuming it does support the requirements.

I think, as the previous person said, it may be bricked

@forrest

Pardon my ignorance, but what is an RMA?

@Moses_89

It is broken, so go to service-center.

RMA = Return Merchandise Authorization
