DMZ not working
DMZ not working
So I just got this router a few days ago, and am trying to set up a DMZ. I have the target sever set for DHCP reservation, and the same IP address as the destination for the DMZ. I also have several "Virtual Servers" setup as well. Turns out the DMZ just dosn't work as I think it should, where ALL incoming traffic goes to that server, except ports noted in the Virtual Server list.
I vaugly read some where that the DMZ must be directly connected to the router on a particual port (1 of 5), but can't find that info.
Just curious if anyone else has this issue, and if there is a way to actually make it work as expected.

Hey there. I have mostly GOOD NEWS! With the beta firmware, the DMZ port now works as expected. I've deleted all of the Virtual Server entries for the server, leaving the server as the DMZ, so now all traffic goes to and from the server.
Thank you so much for helping me get this to work.
On a side note, from the LAN, I used to be able to enter https://jlthla.com:5001, and that would send me to the server on the LAN. This now does not work. But once again, if I enter that port # into the Virtual Server list on the router, it does work. While this is not a huge problem, it is probably something you may need to address at some point.

About the problem that cannot acess https://jlthla.com:5001 directly, this shuold be related to the NAT loopback for DMZ. I will test it as well.

TP-Link already released a new official firmware. It may solve the problem.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202005/20200512/TL-R600VPN(UN)_v4_4.0.4%20Build%2020200313.zip

So I downloaed the software from the link you provided, and am now at this verion of firmware:
4.0.4 Build 20200313 Rel.41831
You mentioned a new "official" release, but on the website, it looks like this is the latest release:
TL-R600VPNv4_un_4.0.3_20190227-rel48206_up
So I'm not sure I have the "new official firmware", but if I do, we're back to square 1. Nothing from the outside comes thru the rotuer, thru the DMZ, and https://jlthla.com:5001, when accessed from the LAN gets me nowhere, unless I create a "virtual server" for that port.
When I do a port scan for my IP address on port 5001, it shows as blocked unless I set that port up as a Virtual Server.

I think different regions have different local website. Their information is not synchronized. So you did not see the lastest firmware on your local website.
The latest firmware version is 20200313 not 20190227. Version 20190227 still has the problem. So you can try to upgrade to 20200313. You can check the current firmware version for the router on the router's management web. Make sure the version is 20200313. Then check the problem.
PS: If your local website desn't release the version 20200313, please try to download the latest firmware from my download link.

The TD-W9970 is not a SMB router, please kindly start a new thread in the DSL Modems&Routers under SOHO Community for effective suggestions. Thank you!
