Hello Poeple,

I'm really stuck because I can't use this router like a conventional nat router! For a temporary application, I would have liked to use it to access from the WAN port to a single device connected to one of these LAN ports. NAT (virtual server) should do the trick but it doesn't seem to work! here is the aspected diagram:

I have two completely independent networks. the first network is in the range 192.168.0.0/24 and the second is in 192.168.20.0/24. Each network has its own ISP and therefore each has a different modem. From the first network from the machine 192.168.0.123, I want to access the ip address 192.168.20.221 on the for 8080. For this, I added a virtual server on port 8080 with the internal address in 192.168.20.221 . The router at address 192.168.0.15 in WAN and 192.168.20.248 in LAN.

During the connection test, when on the machine 192.168.0.123 I try to access 192.168.0.15:8080, I am not redirected to the web page of 192.168.20.221:8080! I dont know why this is not working. I've configured rule of virtual server with port 8080 and 192.168.20.221 as internal server ip.

So I connected my first network to the WAN socket and the second network to one of the LAN sockets (I took care to deactivate the DHCP server from the LAN network in the TL-R600).

I can't get the router to work as expected! Can someone help me finish my setup?

@oxedgar

Hello,

As far as I know, the TP-Link router is not a traditional router, but just a NAPT router.

To test whether the NAT works, you may simplify the topology, connect them directly like the following setup (no other equipment in between):

Web Server (192.168.20.221:8080)-------(LAN 192.168.20.248)--TL-R600VPN V4--(WAN 192.168.0.15, static)---------Client 192.168.0.123

By the way, ensure the Web Server is accessible in the local LAN network.

@Yannie

My server is working fine on the lan 2 and is reachable from other computers in lan 2 network!

I know this device has too many functions for what I want to do. It is a temporary installation and I had it in stock! I think it can still work for what I want to do right?

When I simplify as you indicated, I still cannot access my web server when the client is placed on the WAN port of the router! Certainly, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong! I did what is in this guide: https://www.tp-link.com/fr-ch/support/faq/134/ but it doesn't work! normal?

@oxedgar

Sorry, the keyboard is too small...

Perhaps you should contact tp-link support for some suggestions as they know more about their products. Good luck!
