OC200 not connected to Internet
OC200 not connected to Internet
About a month ago, I enabled the Cloud access function on my OC200 and bound it to my TP-Link ID. Now I was able to monitor and control the OC200 on my mobile phone, even when not connected to the LAN.
Since a few weeks, the controller no longer seems to have Internet access. The bind-LED is off and I cannot use the app anymore to connect to the controller while on the go.
Though my network topology is simple and nothing had changed (I was on holidays), I cannot figure out why the OC200 doesn't have access to the Internet. I was hoping that the upgrade of the controller software to version 4.1.5 would solve this issue. So I upgraded the controller (via pre-downloaded firmware file, since the controller could not check for updates automatically).
However, this didn't help. Still no access to the Internet. Some checks: the map page shows that the controller is disconnect from the internet. Further more, i get an error every day, stating that te logs could not be sent to my e-mail adres. And finally, when I want to try to enable cloud access again, after filling in e-mail adress and (correct) password, I get an error:
Any suggestions what to do next? The controller is connected to the TP-Link TL-SG108PE switch with no special configuration. The switch is connected to the ISP's modem/router.
Kind regards,
Daniel

Dear @Daniel_NL,
The bind-LED is off and I cannot use the app anymore to connect to the controller while on the go.
When the Cloud LED is Off (not slow blinking) on the OC200, it indicates that the OC200 is not connected to the Internet. In this case, we won't be unable to enable cloud access.
In the connection of OC200----TL-SG108PE----ISP modem router, it's suggested to check the Ethernet cable between the OC200 and SG108PE, try another cable, connect the OC200 to other Ethernet ports on the SG108PE, replace the OC200 with a PC to confirm the PC can obtain a stable internet connection with the same cable and port.
If necessary, backup the current settings, then factory reset the OC200 from the controller page or reset it by pushing the reset hole about 8 seconds until the SYS LED flashes rapidly. After that, wait about 5 minutes until it restarts compeletely, check if the Cloud LED would slow blinking (indicates it's connected to the Internet).

I replaced the ethernet cable with an different, new cable. Didn't make any difference. Tried both cables to connect a laptop. The laptop did have unrestricted access tot the internet. Changed port on the switch and repeated these steps. No difference at all.
So finally I performed a reset of the OC200 controller from the controller webpage (after finishing a back-up of the settings). After starting up again, I noticed that the Cloud LED was flashing slowly. Before restoring the configuration, I tried to bind my TP-Link ID. This succeeded!
Restored the original configuration. After the restore had finished, I noticed that Internet access was still ok and my TP-Link was still bound. All seemed to work fine!
Just to make sure, I performed a standard reboot of the controller (from the maintenance page). When the OC200 was up and running again, the controller's Cloud Access was enabled, but the Status is disconnected. The cloud LED is off again...

Thank you for your update.
To verify, would the Cloud LED turn back to solid on and the Status come back to Connected automatically after a period of time?
May I know the MAC Address of the OC200 (can be found on the bottom label)?

After the reboot as mentioned before, I didn't touch the device anymore. So it is still in the same state.
And no, the Cloud status is still disconnected (see screenprint in previous post) and the Cloud LED on the controller is still off.
MAC address is: CC:32:E6:B8:AF:8C.
Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel_NL,
can you successully rebind to the TP-Link cloud after the reboot?
Can you successfully ping the OC200 from your laptop or your router?
Do you use a dynamic or a static IP on your OC200?

The controller still seems to be bound. When I click the "Unbind TP-Link ID"-button, a spinning cursor appears and nothing seems to happen anymore.
When I refresh the page, the button shows its original state again.
Yes, I can ping the OC200. Checked that using a DOS box and the Ping-command. Otherwise I couldn't reach it's webpage too, I guess.
The OC200 is configured to use a static IP address.

@Daniel_NL, just a guess. I know DHCP servers which are so slow in responding that cloud services initiated at boot time fail while the device can be accessed after the boot.

Hello @Daniel_NL,
MAC address is: CC:32:E6:B8:AF:8C.
We don't find any device from the cloud with this MAC address, could you please take a picture of the OC200 label?
