HI all,

 

I just bought a new outdoor antenna.

But it does not start up, i do not see any light on the device and i cannot ping it.

To me it seems dead, but i just took it out of the box.

Is there something i can do to make it work.

I use the supplied POE injector and i can feel the antenna get a bit warm, but i do not see it give any sign of life.

Even the network is not activated (there are no lights blinking).

 

I tried the reset of the poe injector, use a other poe injector, restarted all parts several times without succes.

I do have a few other TP-link antenna's so i do know how it could work.

 

Is there a reset that might resolve this?

@the-Barry, try to reset the EAP to factory defaults. Press the RESET button on the EAP225-Outdoor (not on the PoE adapter, this is a dead button) for 7-8 seconds until the LED flashes and indicates a reboot. If this works, the LED was probably disabled by someone else who got his hands on the EAP before it reached you.

Hello. Any solution? Same happened to me too. 2 eap 225 indoor v3 and none turns on. tried each others poe injectors and nothing happened.

@Lefi i turned it in and they switched it with a new one. So i didn't find a solution.

Thanks for the answer. I noticed that the cable from the injector to the AP (poe) was Cat 5. I switched it to cat 5e and they worked just fine immediately. Cheers,

@Lefi i tried several cat 5/cat5e/cat6 cables, multiple poe power supplies but didn't do the trick. Happy that its fixed with the cat5e cable!
