Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I have a big troubble with two of new devices that I buyed:

T1500G-8T(TL-SG2008), I'm trying to access to the web administration of the switch, but I can't have it.
- I put the IP as 192.168.0.5/24 and nothing

- I connect the wired into the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 ports and nothing.
- I have been reset the device with the power on, with the reset buton press and then wih the power on and nothing

The device, as a "switch" is working, but the switch administration over http, telnet, ssh, even the ping to the 192.168.0.1, don't work.... and I buyed two!!!!

What's the IP address of your laptop/PC when trying to connect to the switch?

@EternuS, ok. Did you connect the computer directly with the switch with no other devices connected to the switch, especially not the second T1500G-8T? If not, connect the computer directly to the switch, not through the network.

Did you reboot the computer after changing its IP to 192.168.0.5 if it runs Windows? Firewall/anti-virus software disabled?

I have a T1500G-8T, too, and it responds to the default IP 192.168.0.1 just fine after setting factory defaults. But I use MacOS, not Windows.

@R1D2 I been connect directly from my computer to the switch. I have try with one first, and after this one dosent work, I tryed with the second: The same result. I rebooted my computer after change the IP, in fact, just as a test, I tryed with my girlfriend laptop: The same result. I'm using another T1500G-8T without problems. That's why I buyed this two devices, but I can't access to the webadmin even to make ping to the devices.

@EternuS,

of course, after a hard reset of the switch a ping to 192.168.0.1 should work.

Please post the output of command ipconfig in the Windows console/terminal.

Maybe the patch cable is broken. Did you try another cable already?

I can only say what I would do to connect to a TP-Link switch and I configure plenty of them (T1500G, T1600G, T2600G) for my customers every other day. I never experienced a dead switch so far, but this cannot be ruled out as the cause for a malfunction, maybe the switch has a defect. But before considering a RMA, I would double and triple check everything else.

Dear @EternuS,

Try the points below and check if it helps.

1. With the switch powered on, please use a pin to press and hold the reset hole for about 8-10 seconds to factory reset the switch, you should see all LEDs flash once if the reset is successful.

2. Please disconnect other ethernet cables from the switch if there is, simply connect one PC to the switch via cable, confirm the corresponding port LED lights up on the switch correctly.

3. Then configure the PC with IP 192.168.0.100/24, leave the default gateway blank.

4. Open the web browser in privacy mode, verify if you can log into the web UI of the switch via the default IP 192.168.0.1.
If failed, ping the switch IP 192.168.0.1, check if the connectivity works.

Further suggestions, you may refer to the guide below.
What should I do if I cannot access the web management page of my TP-Link switch
